The Ferrari 430 Scuderia and the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560/4 are quite similar cars. They both cost well over £100,000, they both have power over 500bhp and they can both reach 60mph in under four seconds. However, both also manage to combine track-car performance with everyday road use (sort of) but they are not for the faint-hearted; they are both serious performance cars with the power to turn your face inside out. The facts say it all...

New cars for new drivers
If you're young and learning to drive, or have already passed your driving test, you will have probably been looking for a car to buy. There are thousands of cars to choose from on the second-hand market and the majority are ideally suited to new drivers because they are generally a bit older and therefore cheap to buy and cheap to run.
But what if you have a bit more cash to spend and can stretch to something newer? Today, new cars tend to be quite expensive because of the technology, safety equipment and modern functions that are fitted as standard. So what is currently on the market that would suit a new driver?

Top tips for buying a used car
Every year, thousands of young people pass their driving test and buy a small, second-hand car that becomes their ticket to freedom. However, it's easy to rush the buying process and choose a car that could soon become an un-safe, expensive thing to own. Therefore, being sensible and taking the time to find the perfect car can pay off in the long run.
The price of petrol
Everyone is talking about it... the price rise in UK petrol. It dominated the press throughout April and we were told that petrol prices hit a record high and that motorists would notice the extra expense over the Easter weekend. The AA reported that pump prices have now reached an average of 136.75p for unleaded and 142.72p for diesel, and compared with a year ago it now costs £7.46 more for petrol and £10.05 more for diesel for a typical 50-litre refill.

Overall, this is costing the average driver an extra £44 on their policy.

The Beetle is back!
In 1998, Volkswagen re-created their original Beetle with a modern, bubble-shape version that had a flower in the dashboard. It was querky and appealing to some, but to others it was trying too hard to be the fun and lovable 'bug' that the ledgendary original became back in the 50s and 60s. VW have now revived the Beetle with a different look, a change in shape and a stylish, sporty interior - very different from the last New Beetle (as it was known) and certainly no sign of a fake flower poking out the dash!

Spot the difference
This is Fiat's new 500 TwinAir with its 900cc two-cylinder engine. But you'd struggle to notice the difference between this an any other 500, apart from the new striking blue that was launched with the car.

Happy campers at launch of new VW
The new camper from Volkswagen created quite a buzz at the Geneva motor show last week. Based on the iconic VW Camper from the late 1940s, the new Bulli takes on a slightly different style both inside and out.
There have been various models since the original Camper, including the Microbus concept, which the Bulli takes styling tips from, but Bulli was the first name given to the Camper back in 1930. And now it returns...
